Placement Test

If you already have knowledge of a foreign language, a placement test is necessary to obtain a detailed determination of your existing language level and to find the optimal course for you.

The placement test consists of a written part and an oral part.

    Registration for the Placement Test

    Please register for the test with your personal data and a valid e-mail address after clicking on the “Start Placement Test” button.

  • Written Placement

    Perform the written placement test by clicking on the link in the email you receive after registration.

    Please do not use any aids such as translation programs or AI (ChatGPT etc.) for the written part. The test should reflect your level of knowledge, this is the only way to determine the right course for you!

    Please call us to arrange an appointment for the oral placement interview.

    After the oral part you will receive the result with your language level.

How to take the placement test

  • Start written placement test

    Click on take placement test to begin the written part of the placement test.

  • 1. Select language

    First, select the language for which you wish to take the placement test.

  • 2. Personal information

    Next, enter your personal details.

    Please ensure that you enter your correct email address. A link will be sent to this email address to begin the actual placement test.

  • 3. Submit

    Click on Submit to complete your registration for the placement test.

  • 4. Check your email

    Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive an email from us containing a link to begin the actual placement test. Please click on the link Start test now in the email.

    Occasionally, the email may be incorrectly rejected by a spam filter. Should you not receive an email, please check your spam/junk folder to see whether the email was sent there.

  • 5. Review personal information

    After you click on the link in the email, the browser will open. Please verify the correctness of your personal information here.

    If any information is incorrect, please re-register for the test.

  • 6. Start test

    Click on Start test.

  • Take test

    The written part  of the placement test consists of multiple-choice questions and takes approximately 20 minutes.

    Select each answer you think is correct, and proceed to the next question by clicking on “Next”.

    The progress bar will show you how much of the test you’ve already completed.

    Important: Please do not interrupt the test! Your answers are not cached.

  • Submit test

    After you’ve finished the test, click on Submit test and wait for confirmation from the system to finalize your written test.

    Once you’ve completed the written placement test, please contact us by phone to arrange a date for the oral placement part.
